Ergo-dynamic seating principals
Today, children spend significantly more time
sitting than they did 20 years ago and they are less
active as well. Healthy bodies require movement.
We assist this with our ergo-dynamic design.
A world breakthrough for Australian school children.
“Surely, there are
no more important
chairs than the
ones we ask our
children to sit on...”
THE PANTO RANGE OF
CHAIRS ARE ENDORSED
BY THE CHIROPRACTORS
ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA
A child’s chair is a vital component of
their growing process. Much like a child
spends many hours in bed and must
have a supportive sleeping surface, the
seating position is a key component to
a healthy spine. Children will spend up
to 8 hours per day sitting, especially in
these times of computer games and
television. Poor seating posture will have
a substantial impact on the developing
spine setting the foundations for poor
spinal health in later in life. Poor spinal
biomechanics seen in adults are often
attributed to childhood habits and
traumas. Trauma is not just a single
event but often a series of micro traumas
over a long period. Poor seating posture
due to incorrect chairs could well be
considered a daily micro trauma.
Can you imagine spending 8 hours a day
for 13 years of school life sitting on a
plank of wood? The lasting effects are
disastrous on the human body.
The PantoFlex and PantoMove 3D chairs
provide a flexible, durable and supportive
school chair suitable to all ages, shapes
and sizes. They are versatile and attractive
with a good level of consumer acceptance.
They will contribute to the improved spinal
health of our children and next generation.
The Chiropractors’ Association of Australia
has a vision to improve the health of our
community and supports the education
of our children in improved spinal health.
It is through this education process that
we can enlighten children to set up
healthy and safe environments, which
foster healthy habits.

The PantoFlex and PantoMove 3D
school chairs have been assessed for seating height,
seated posture, spinal alignment, movement while
seated, fatigue while seated and the child’s
reaction to the chair. The chairs were
evaluated in a classroom setting as well
as in a clinical environment and responses
were collected from school use situations.
The PantoFlex and PantoMove 3D chairs
were found to perform highly in all these
respects and to be superior to other school
chairs to which they were compared.
These findings were also correlated with
findings of research and design teams’
previously published works.
